RAW HERBS

We prepare raw herbal formulas in the traditional manner, carefully weighing each ingredient and wrapping each packet in paper. Herbs that should be crushed are crushed at the time the formula is assembled, never ahead of time. Herbs that need pre-cooking or short cooking, according to your instructions, will be clearly labeled and separately packaged, ensuring your patients get the most from their medicine.

We use only the highest quality, sulfur-free, pesticide free herbs available for your herbal formulas. We work with only the best wholesale distributors in the industry - Mayway, Nuherbs, Asia Natural and Spring Wind. As time goes on, more and more certified organic Chinese herbs are becoming available. This is a very exciting development for anyone who uses Chinese herbs! Most raw herbal formulas will be between $4-$7 per bag, with the exact cost determined at the time of your order. Keep in mind that the price of a raw herb formula is influenced by many factors including: overall formula size (daily dosage), number of herbs used, and the type of herbs used. As herbalists, you know that some herbs are common and grow very easily – these herbs cost less. Other herbs, such as Ren Shen (ginseng radix) and Tian Ma (gastrodia elata) are difficult to grow and therefore cost relatively more. Most herbs fall somewhere in between.

Rather than charge a flat fee, we charge you only for exactly how much of each herb is used. This more exact pricing structure ensures a lower price for you and your patients.

PRE-COOKED VACUUM PACKS

Have you ever really wanted a patient to take raw herbs, but dreaded having to explain to them the details? The soaking. The boiling. The simmering. The straining. The re-boiling! The smell. Modern life is busy, and many people don’t have the time or the patience to go through the process of cooking raw herbs. Pre-cooked, sealed, tough hygienic pouches are the answer. This format is widely available in South Korea and China and is quickly becoming the standard. Pre-cooked vacuum packs deliver the strength of stove-top cooking combined with the convenience of measured doses.

Because the cooking takes place in a sealed chamber, essential oils aren't lost in the cooking process. Vacuum packs keep for one month without refrigeration and two months in the refrigerator.

This format is highly preferred by TCM fertility experts across the country. In addition to the convenience and time savings, vacuum packs ensure that their patients get the exact same formula every time. You don't have to worry that your patients will overcook or undercook their herbs or just decide to skip it because of the hassle.

CONCENTRATED GRANULE POWDER

Most powdered formulas will be between $20-$30, with the exact cost determined at the time of your order. Rather than charge a flat fee, we price our powder formulas the same way as our raw herb formulas: based on the herbs used. If you use more common herbs, the cost is lower. If you use less common herbs, the price will be higher. This more exact pricing structure ensures a lower cost for you and your patients.

• Ordering size: 100 grams minimum, 25 gram increments thereafter (e.g. 125 grams, 150 grams, 275 grams, et cetera).
• Encapsulization: Makes taking powdered herbs a breeze. Fat Turtle’s kosher, vegetarian capsules are the industry standard size 00 and average 0.65 grams per capsule. Add $10 per 100 grams for encapsulization service.

Pills and tablets are excellent for convenience and cost-effectiveness. Order some to keep on hand in the office, or you can have them delivered directly to your patients. GRANULE POWDER FORMULAS AND CAPSULES

Concentrated granule formulas are also available in powder or capsules. These formulas have the added advantage of being cooked together in the traditional manner before the powdering process takes place. They are generally more powerful than the same formula in patent pill form. Check with us for availability.

BULK HERBS

Fat Turtle focuses on custom formulas, and therefore usually does not keep stock on hand for bulk orders. However, if you have a special need for a pound or more of a certain herb, please let us know and we will do our best to get it to you.
